Aggregating species are diverse and fascinating and their spawning EVENTS are far more than just fishing opportunities. They can be remarkable for the numbers of fish present and FOR the fish behaviours that occur. As more people learn about and document them, we are coming to appreciate these important wildlife spectacles. A growing number of aggregations are now lucrative ecotourism destinations, from Belize to French Polynesia, the Maldives and Japan, among many other places.
