To protect fish spawning aggregation area and the conservation and protection of the Blue-striped grunt Haemulon sciurus, Bermuda's North Shore is closed for fishing for 2 months from May 1 to June 30.

6 A Strategy for the Sustainable Use of Bermuda’s Living Marine Resources 23 Apr 10

Bermuda Government proposed a 15-year strategy to manage Bermuda's fisheries which includes a management plan for each main species, to be reviewed every three to five years. Research will incorporate stock status, spawning aggregation and movement patterns. Age, growth and reproduction studies will help to set minimum legal sizes.
